Welcome to the School of Social Science. Our goal is to meet the educational needs of those wishing to enter a variety of human services fields. SSS offers the unique educational perspective of intertwining faith, knowledge within our discipline, service to others, and ethical reasoning throughout our subject matter. Our faculty and staff seek excellence as we serve our students and communities.

The Master of Arts in Counseling program has graduated over 1,200 students in the past 15 years. Spring Arbor University has received accreditation for this program through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and has recently added an online MA in Counseling.
Building on the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited Bachelor of Social Work program, which has graduated more than 400 social workers in the last five years, SAU is offering a Master of Social Work at limited locations in Michigan and the program has full CSWE accreditation. Additionally, SAU now offers an online BSW.
The mission of the School of Social Science is to provide educational services informed by the liberal arts within a Christian framework, supported by a diverse and service-oriented curriculum in order to positively impact individuals, families, and communities.
